Abash Goldleaf – A Kima of Kushurya’s ntal. Abash was a merchant-sailor rescued by the Golden Gale and who now serves as first mate on that same ship.

Argon Galerius (deceased) – Captain of the Golden Gale.

Aysho (deceased) – Kara-Turan slave of Damphair possessed by a lost goddess of death. Her deathcurse precipitated the Night of Storm and Fire.

Bloodpelt – One of several Ntal’oo in the Kima city of Bonbutu. Bloodpelt is Master of the Hunt and his ntal contains many skilled huntsmen. His pelt is short and black.

Damphair (deceased) – Nephew of the Cantator of Char’dalon, M. Dracogena, and captain of the Salt Wife.

Hanzo – Sanamoske’s servant.

Inki – A Kima of Bloodpelt’s ntal. Now serving on the Sea Dragon as a marine under the command of Grathis.

Kushurya – One of several Ntal’oo in the Kima city of Bonbutu. Extremely plump, Kushurya has a keen mind with a gift for mercantile endeavors.

Legate Das – Kogani Shakat ambassador to Bonbutu

Mzayus – One of several Ntal’oo in the Kima city of Bonbutu and leader of their Council.

Paroko – One of several Ntal’oo in the Kima city of Bonbutu. Paroko is eldest and shaman of the Kima. He is small and wizened with thin, wrinkled, nearly hairless skin. Paroko is one of the few Kima that have wingbuds.

Queen of the Hidden – Obese to the point of near perfect roundness, she is the leader of the wood spirits who live in the jungle north of Bonbutu.

Ua Sundrinker – One of several Ntal’oo in the Kima city of Bonbutu. Ua is the most skilled among the Kima with the arcane arts. Her pelt is long with wispy, blond-white fur that seems to move of its own volition.
